User Manual: Argus Data Manager (ADM)
Compatibility
Argus Data Manager software (ADM) is designed to run on any Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 operating system. The Argus Data Manager software will import and manage test reports from any compatible Argus memory device such as the AATPR20 printer/memory module accessory for the AA1000/360 series battery testers.
Installing the Argus Data Manager Software
Installation should begin automatically after downloading the software from the Argus download site, or by choosing ‘Install now’ from the Argus product CD. If the install wizard does not begin, locate and double-click the file ‘adminstaller.msi’ to start the installation wizard.
When installation is complete, start ADM from your programs list. The software will start and run in the background (small icon in task notification area, lower right of screen.) Click on the task icon or connect the printer/memory module to the PC to open the report viewer.
Importing Test Records to Argus Data Manager
Perform some battery tests with your tester and save each test result to the printer/memory. For instructions on saving test results, please see: Printing and Saving Test Results and Tester Setup Options.
Locate the USB port on the back of the printer/memory module and connect the printer/memory module to your PC using the USB cable. Follow any on screen instructions to register your software and tester. Close any ‘AutoPlay’ windows that pop-up. All test reports that were saved to the printer/memory module will be automatically be imported from the printer/memory module into the ADM software, and ADM software interface will open automatically on your screen.
Proper connection between the printer/memory and ADM software is indicated by the orange Argus logo in the upper right corner.

Browsing and Editing Test Records
Click on any record in the test records list to view the test report. Test records may be sorted by clicking on any column heading, or by using the records filter below the records list.
For every test record that is imported, battery details should be added to the test report. After selecting a test record, click on the [battery +] icon to open the battery details form. Enter the battery details for the test record and click ‘OK’ to save. The battery details will be added to the test record.
If you have previously saved battery details for a particular battery, you may select these details to be added to the battery test report. Click the [battery ? ] icon to select battery details from the list of previously tested batteries.
Test Reports
Test reports may be previewed, printed, saved to memory, or copied to the clipboard for pasting into an email or other document. Use the buttons above the test report to manage test reports.
Formatting options for the test reports may be configured in the preferences section.
Test Report Headline Text
The AA360 and AA1000 series testers allow the user to program up to three lines of custom text to be printed at the top of the test report. Use the Argus Data Manager Software to set the test report headline text for your tester. Select ‘Preferences’ and then ‘Test Report Header’ and enter the desired text. Check the box to ‘Automatically set this header on connection’ The text header will be programmed into the printer the next time you connect the printer/memory module to the PC.
